RTS Group mentoring
Do you want to talk through a particular business issue with other disabled entrepreneurs? What about discussing common issues to your business sector?
Between now and September, RTS is running a number of themed teleconference calls, facilitated by a business mentor, to RTS entrepreneurs. Calls are free from a BT landline (we’ll send you full and straight forward joining instructions) and you can raise problems that are concerning you, hear other people’s questions and solutions, and meet (or at least hear) other disabled entrepreneurs in a similar position or building a business in the same sector as you.

Make Your Business Succeed event London Thursday 12 March
Make your Business Succeed Thursday 12 March 2009 This is a one-day conference for people with a disability who are interested in setting up a business or working for themselves, run by the British Library Business & IP Centre and Leonard Cheshire Disability. The event includes a tailored programme of workshops and one-to-one advice sessions to help you get started. It will give you an overview of the different aspects of running a business which you need to be aware of, and the opportunities and support available to you, such as the Ready to Start programme. You will have the chance to network and make contact with like-minded people with similar aspirations and concerns. You might also find potential customers, business partners and suppliers. Bring business cards and leaflets advertising your own business. There will be display space for you. During the event you can attend a workshop and have a one-to-one advice session with business and information experts from the British Library, Business Link for London, HM Revenue & Customs and the Ready to Start programme, which will give you the chance to ask specific questions and gain expert advice. Jobcentre Plus will be giving advice about in-work benefits and how they can help you make the transition from benefits to work. |

Happy New Year!
Well, we’re a little bit late but… Happy New Year! We really hope everyone had a fun festive season? Hopefully, the cold snap didn’t freeze anyone’s wits and the post-Christmas fug has lifted now!
The RTS team are all back and buzzing now apart from Vanessa, our regional co-ordinator in the North East, who was taken ill over the holidays. We’re all keeping our fingers and toes crossed that she’ll be feeling better soon.
This year, with recruitment to the programme now closed except for in South Wales, our focus is firmly on helping our existing clients to launch and succeed in their entreprise. We’ll let you know about local networking events, training courses and bits of news here.
And we’d really love to hear about what you are doing at the moment and how things are going! Don’t be shy - this is a great space for sharing thoughts and questions with us, other RTS entrepreneurs, buddies and friends.
