Maria Zedda, a disabled entrepreneur and a mother of two from South London has been named the overall winner as part of a national competition called the Ready to Start Entrepreneur Awards.  

Maria from Wideaware Training was presented with two cheques, one for £1000 as overall winner and one for £500 a regional winner by Ilyas Khan, Leonard Cheshire Disability Chairman and John Davis, Marketing Director for Barclays Local Business at a ceremony at the House of Lords on 26 October.  (more…)

Finalists announced in the 2009 Morgan Foundation Entrepreneur Awards

The finalists have been announced in this year’s Morgan Foundation Entrepreneur Awards. In total, there are 29 finalists across six different categories. They are now in the running to win one16 cash prizes, totalling £100,000, as well as a package of professional services. The eventual winners and runners-up will be revealed on the 19th November at the 2009 Morgan Foundation Entrepreneur Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner to be held at the Carden Park Hotel, near Chester.
